Since I had to stay at UNL during fall break, I decided to visit the UNL museum. I had never been inside it before so I figured this would be a good chance for me to get a feel for it. As I walked in, I could hear distant chatter in the background of children with their parents. I walked straight into the Elephant room. All I could hear was the sound of air coming through the vents as I stared at the fossils of all the different types of elephants. When I left I walked down the hallway which displayed more fossils of smaller animals. I walked into a small “bizarre beast room” and found that it was absolutely silent. I stared at the models of creatures that lived long ago. There displays of sharks that are now extinct and I found interest in a sea creature that was 8ft long and had no vertebrae, I was able to touch and feel what the intestines of that animal would have felt like. I continued to walk around and saw different exhibits on outer space and dinosaurs. When I saw the exhibit on minerals and rocks I didn’t think it would be very interesting, but there was a section where there were rocks enclosed and no light was around making the rocks glow in different colors. There was a button you could press to turn on the lights and it made the rocks look very boring and bland but with the lights off, they looked amazing. After walking around more, I took interest in the weapons exhibit. I thought it was very interesting how weapons have changed over the years. How it started with simple arrows to more complex arrows, then to guns and machine guns. I really thought it was cool how a museum was in the middle of campus and I really enjoyed being there. I thought it had a lot of information and had some very interesting exhibits that I had never seen before. I have been in many museums before so I was expecting this one to be really small and not have many interesting artifacts but it was the opposite. I don’t think the museum relates to any problem that is occurring today but it is good for students to go to place like this to get their mind off stressful school situations and just take some time to look at interesting artifacts.
The Place Space 
I too find Morrill Hall to be a very interesting break from school. I bring my baby brother there all the time on the weekends. The size of the mammoths and elephants is baffling. I couldn’t believe some of those were found here in Nebraska. Also when it comes to the weapons i cant imagine the amount of time it would have taken to create such intricate weapons. I also go there to take some space from the stressful school work and read all the interesting exhibits.

I’ve been to Morrill Hall every year since I can remember, so it was really fum to read this and relive the first time going there through you!! Since I was so young, I don’t really remember the “first time” that I ever went, so it was pretty cool to get a refreshing perspective on the place through you that wasn’t changed by prior experiences there. I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
