UNL

After discussing what we thought about UNL before we all came here and what we thought of after starting school here, it made me think about a lot of things. A few people who are from Nebraska as well mentioned how UNL wasn’t their first choice when it came to choosing schools and I was in the same position as them. During my junior and senior year of high school I always thought to myself “I’m never going to go there” and “UNL is probably my last option” but after looking back I regret that I ever felt that way. Once I decided to leave my old college in Iowa and I came on my visit to UNL, I knew for sure that I wanted to transfer here. Going from a small liberal arts college to a big university was a huge change for me but I feel like I’ve adjusted very well. Transferring to UNL has impacted my life in so many positive ways and I can’t explain how blessed I am for somehow ending up here. I’m glad I got to experience going to school in another state for a year, but being here now has helped benefit my life so much more. I’ve made a lot of new friends here, which I didn’t feel like I would do right away after transferring here. I have grown so close with all of my coworkers and they’ve helped me become a better person and make better decisions and it’s nice that they all go to UNL as well. Since transferring here I’ve became so much more aware of what I can do after graduating from here and I’ve started to think and focus on my future a lot more, which I definitely didn’t do that much last year. I feel like once I graduate from here I’ll be able to look back and realize that transferring to UNL was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. Even though UNL wasn’t the college I started at and it wasn’t an option for me when I was deciding where to go to college, I’m beyond thankful that I go to school at this amazing university in my home town.

  1. I think a lot of people feel that way about UNL! I know I did! I didn’t want to go here really, I wanted to try a different college out but in the end I ended up here and wouldn’t have it any other way!
