Pontoon – Little Big Town

Little Big Town is an American country music group founded in 1998, and is comprised of four people. The song Pontoon by Little Big Town was rated a single of the year in 2013. It brings me back to the thousands of lakes that Minnesota contains. But, it brings me back to one of the special places and lakes in my life that my family and I spend a lot of time on. When listening to this song, it represents that place of relaxation, calmness, and peace while floating on top of calm waves on a sunny and seventy-five-degree day.

At my cabin, my family and I would bring our big box speaker out onto our pontoon and play this song on repeat as we trolled around the lake. The lines, “Reach your hand down into the cooler… Don’t drink it if the mountains are blue…try to keep it steady as you recline on your black inner tube”, perfectly represent a picture in my head of how my dad enjoyed his time on Devils Lake. He usually sits there with a beer in his hand, shades on, and holding a fishing pole. The summer days on Minnesota lakes  are accurately represented here. Pontoon by Little Big Town displays a scene that just reminds you of having fun, and shows a way to relieve all stresses by taking a day out on the lake. It is a good way to turn your mood around after a long, and hard day.
